Mount Gerizim

by Matt Wright | 29 Jul 2022 | Bible Places, Israel, Picture of the Week

Samaritans were a people group in ancient Israel who worshipped God on Samaria’s Mount Gerizim, rather than Jerusalem’s Mount Moriah (John 4:20). This photo shows where the Samaritans built their temple. It likely rivalled the temple in Jerusalem for several hundred years, before Jews destroyed it around 110 BC.
